Thanks everyone.

Can anyone confirm what bridge humbucker is in this by the photo? I am assuming that it is a schaller 2n1 just because the plastic looks like a schaller and the 2 adjustment screws. I don't want to pull it to tell for sure.

I do have to say that the 2n1 sounds alot better than the golden 50, I like the golden 50, but the 2n1 is just more "rock"

Since I can't leave well enough alone, I decided I am going to sand the finish down in the area where the ESP flicker tremolo gets screwed into the body, about 1/16" of an inch.

This should allow me to remove 1 more shim, and bring the shim count down to 2. (shims are the stock kramer shims)

I love the guitar, but the neck angle is too much and feels a little weird to me.

As you can see, there is some room to drop the tremolo down.

Ah, yikes! Sanding again, LOL...

Like we were talkin about earlier, the old Floyd holes can be filled no problem but the paint match is just going to be as good as it gets, you'll see something but at least you won't have holes starin' at ya. Candy jobs are a pain.in.the.ass.

If just being a player is the thing, after all someone has already done mods before you got it, the Flicker could be sunk into a shallow route I guess...a Dremel with a router guide, a straightedge and a whole lot of patience.

Thanks Heniz! Yes, only a recess of about 1/16"-1/8" is required, and only to the tremolo hole opening, basically to "rest" the tremolo on the body.

The "bar" that the tremolo knife edges goes into is the only thing that needs to be recessed. Like a recessed tune-o-matic

That will give me enough to remove about 2 shims so the neck angle isn't crazy.

Finally got around to getting the tremolo recessed because the neck pocket was too deep. Neck had 4 shims and neck angle was way to much to make it barely playable.

Now action is nice and low, with no shims used.

1. I had tremolo recessed
2. I sanded down the area under the fretboard overhang so that overhang was recessed into the body as well.
