An update... this is the best I could do. I'll settle for this as now the E string is not as close to the edge of the frets and I don't have to worry about it slipping off the frets when playing. Now it's just a minor aesthetic issue that's all. I didn't use any shims, I just cranked the neck as much as I could to the bass side whilst tightening the screws. Difference in playability is night and day and I'm a happy camper once again. :toast :headbang

Looks perfect now :thumbs . It´d be a shame if you´d have a guitar that you just don´t like touching because of something like that.

Looks much better now :thumbs

If it moves, just add a little shim on the thick e-side between the body and neck (on the bridge side of the route, at the corner of the neck), that should be enough to make it stay there. I usually use 1-2 layers of thick sticky tape as a shim for such occasions.
